Dr. Nathan Brooks

Dr. Nathan Raen Brooks is a Boeing Senior Technical Fellow in Electromagnetics & Antenna Systems, providing technical leadership as an executive-level engineer. He previously led Boeing’s Assured Operation with a 5G+ team, delivering strategic and technical support to task forces across the Boeing enterprise and aerospace industries concerning aviation interference from current and future telecommunications. Beginning his industry career in 2007, he provides technical expertise and consultation in developing architectures and algorithms for Boeing’s Signal Intelligence & Electronic
Warfare antenna systems. Additionally, he is the University Innovation Lead within Boeing’s Enterprise Technology Office, where he targets explicitly developing relationships and funding research with Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).
Dr. Brooks has over 20 years of experience in electromagnetics and numerical optimization, including graduate and postdoctoral research at the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory (NHMFL), the Center for Advanced Power Systems (CAPS), and the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN). He has received multiple awards at the Black Engineer of the Year (BEYA) conference, the 2019 NSBE Golden Torch Lifetime Achievement in Industry Award, and the 2020 Boeing Defense Engineer of the Year.
Nathan and his wife began raising their family as freshmen at Florida A&M University (FAMU), and both graduated with degrees in Electrical Engineering. Dr. Brooks was FAMU’s first doctoral graduate in Electrical Engineering. He is an active member of the Boeing Black Employee Association, Howard University Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Industry Advisory Board, other FAMU boards, Boeing’s Focal teams for multiple HBCUs, AMIE (Advancing Minorities’ Interest in Engineering) Board of Directors, and other committees concentrating on increasing diversity in STEM fields. He spends most
of his time volunteering within his church and with various organizations, focused on bettering his
communities through service, example, and mentorship.
